Daily Woody - a practical selection from my local Debian mirror

Only one CD image contains all stuff for your GNU /Linux desktop, KDE 3.1, GNOME, OpenOffice, servers and development!

To access it (nearly 700 MB) for the first time, do for instance a wget-session:

wget http://lug-bremen.de/~plumeyer/jochens-woody/woody-jochen.iso
or store the link with your browser. If you want to make sure, that the transfer went ok, also check out the md5sum of the iso.

Advice: There is a low propability, that you are downloading while I am updating. Please check the md5sum to make sure you got a working image.

Or, if you have already an older version stored on your harddisk, use the much more efficient rsync-method:

rsync rsync://lug-bremen.de/jochens-woody/woody-jochen.iso /path/to/older/image

This CD is bootable. You can install Debian "Woody" with it with the 2.4.18 Kernel and ext2/ ext3/ Reiser filesystems right from the start. You'll install your KDE 3.1 desktop quite fast, if you use the kde3-install.sh script on the CD.

It contains Gnome- and KDE applications, OpenOffice, Mozilla, development with QT3, LaTeX and other cool stuff in about 1300 packages.

All security updates are included.
